Penguin Rosebud is located in the Mornington Peninsula region of Victoria and we are open from 6:00am – 6:00pm from Monday to Friday. We cater for children from birth through to six years. We offer care for full and half days. Half days are between the hours of 6am – 12pm and 12pm – 6pm.
At Penguin Childcare Rosebud we embrace cultural diversity and include all who may be interested in using our centres. Children are nurtured to make their own positive choices and when exploring within the world they learn, play and live.
We encourage the development of all life skills, to achieve high self-esteem and to show respect to each other through turn-taking, sharing, discussion and positive role modelling.
Our play environments are bush-like settings which enhances the understanding of nature and its part in the world. We use natural products and resources to develop imagination and creativity within children.
Penguin Childcare Rosebud has also developed its own style of planning to create individual learning for each child. Every child helps to create their own individual portfolio masterpiece. Our child-based education program has been developed through interaction and discussion with the children and their families. We encourage family and community involvement with our open house policy.
Our daily menus are designed to ensure all children receive 50% of their daily intake of nutrients and our sleep routines follow the children’s needs and daily rituals to ensure that sleep time is peaceful and relaxed.
We offer our families Kindyhub and KindyNow. Kindyhub is a fantastic app that captures your child’s learning and updates you directly! This is part of our commitment to providing your child with the best learning experience. KindyNow conveniently allows you to book your child into our centre or notify us of an absence straight from your mobile phone any time of the day. You no longer have to wait until the centre opens to grab a last minute spot. It’s quick, easy and secure.
We would love to welcome you to our centre to show you around!
Our childcare centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become school ready.
I have been the Director at Penguin Childcare Rosebud for nearly 11 years now and it feels more like an extended family to me than my career. I have an Advanced Diploma in Children and Community Services and a Diploma in Business. I am a self-taught gardener and there is nothing more pleasurable to me than getting my hands in the earth and get lost in the garden.
My passion has always been educating children. There is nothing better than watching children discover something new, be creative, improvise when using their imagination, establish wonderful friendships and achieve an experience that looks and feels unachievable. A spark can start a fire, and with children this is pretty much a given. With small steps, we as educators can ignite the passion in children to learn and discover something new every day.
I count the following as my achievements:
- Successfully being rated with the National Quality Standard.
- Implementing rewarding educational programs.
- Empowering Educators to strive for greatness.
- Embracing Sustainable practices within the service
- Establishing Natural outdoor play spaces
I look forward to welcoming your child into Penguin Childcare Rosebud.

Reviews and Testimonials
See what some of our parents say about our centres:
“I have had both of my children at this centre for the last 6 1/2 years and the staff are a part of our extended family now. The educators are always so enthusiastic to see my children and even though my daughter is at school now, she still gets a very warm welcome when at the centre, as does any other member of my family. The educators are lovely and the centre itself is very warm and inviting. Wouldn’t have my children anywhere else.”
“My Son has been going here for a little over 6 months and his growth and development has been outstanding. The staff at penguin are very welcoming and and easy to speak to. I would highly recommend anyone to come here they are just outstanding and do anything to help your child feel happy and comfortable even when there are a little overwhelmed.”
“Before deciding on a child care centre we visited four different centres. Penguin stood out from the others as the outdoor play area has real grass instead of the usual Astro turf, plants, trees and chickens. The centre is very clean, spacious and feels homely. We also like the fact that there is a separate sleeping area in the nursery unlike the other centres we’ve visited. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, i.e. learning baby sign language that we teach our little girl.”

“I have been so lucky to have found a daycare centre that not only provides a safe, educational and nurturing environment, but all the staff are amazing and truly care for all the children. My two daughters have been going to Penguin Childcare Rosebud for over a year now and they love it. I can’t think of a better place to send my children.”
“I had to go back to work as a new Mum when my son was only 7 months old. It was hard to adjust. The staff in the Nursery have been amazing. And Lisa in Management went above and beyond helping us with various issues that cropped up along the way. I like the fact that there are a lot of staff there that are also mothers. Luca is now 17 months old and is itching to be a big boy in the toddler room. And real grass in the playground too! We wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
“Our son is in his third year at Penguin and will be starting prep next year. We are so grateful to all the educators for making our son feel like part of a big family there. He will miss them next year and so will we!”
