Welcome to Penguin Childcare Parkville, a home away from home.

Penguin Childcare Parkville is a beautiful heritage building surrounded by established trees and a purpose built extension to cater for all your care and education needs.

Penguin Childcare ParkvillePenguin Childcare Parkville is an open and spacious centre filled with charm and character that will ensure your children play and learn in a relaxed and stimulating environment. The centre provides care for 60 children and a funded Kindergarten program for 30 children.

The centre is conveniently located five minutes from Melbourne CBD, The University of Melbourne and The Royal Children’s Hospital, making it easily accessible for passers-by on their way to work as well as local residents.

Penguin Childcare Parkville provides care and education for children aged six weeks to six years and is open from 6.30am and 6.30pm weekdays. All meals are prepared onsite with fresh market ingredients and nappies are provided for your convenience.

Our commitment to quality child care has the industries best educators aspiring to be employed with us. We understand the importance of consistency and stability with your child care carer and aim to have the highest staff retention rates in the industry. Individual children’s cultural, religious and nutritional needs are catered for and we encourage communication from parents who like to check on their child’s progress throughout the day. We know how important the decision is as to where you are going to leave your child or baby in day care and we guarantee to make your experience a positive one.

Our childcare centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become school ready.

How long have you been working in childcare? 

5 Years.

What is your favourite part of working at the centre?

The most enjoyable part is to meet and interact with families and children from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. See the smile on the little faces when they play with their friends or found something exciting to play with.

What qualifications do you hold?

Diploma in Children’s Services and pursuing Advanced Diploma.

What are you most passionate about?

I’m a passionate advocate for the rights of children and believe that a safe, secure and nurturing environment provides the basis for children’s ongoing development.

What are you most proud of at your centre?

The professionalism of the staff and how they deliver their services to our families on a daily basis.

What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Children learn more from that you are, than what you teach.

What inspired you to become an educator?

My own daughter.

What values are most important to you in your team members?

Professionalism, nurturing, high quality programs and delivering a high level of services to our families

What is your philosophy about educating children?

I believe that a child will learn most effectively when they are interested, inspired, curious and supported. The children in our care are our partners in education. We learn together. Our educators encourage questions, scaffold learning and assist children to find the answers they seek

What makes your team/centre special?

Our team of educators are all very supportive and dedicated to their roles as educators.

What message would you like to tell parents considering your centre? 

I believe that learning takes place in a social setting where exploration, experimentation, construction and play are core learning methods hence we provide the play based learning for all the different age groups. My multicultural staff develop a strong relationship with families and work collaboratively to establish individualized care, routines and educational goals. I am really looking forward to working with you and your family.
